My friends call me Lasagna

Hi! My name is Katelyn Lisznyai (LIZ-nay). I’m a student, a friend, and a huge baseball fan. My last name is easy to say, but hard to spell. One time, a friend of mine called me Lasagna, and my nickname was born.

After going to a very small college for undergrad, I pursued a Master’s degree in Sport and Entertainment Management from the University of South Carolina. This experience allowed me to gain invaluable knowledge from industry professionals to aid in my future career.

As a softball player turned coach, I developed a vast knowledge of the game. That knowledge led me to an appreciation and love of the game of baseball. While coaching, I began going to different MLB ballparks, watching for the similarities and differences between the teams. To date, I’ve been to 16 of the 30 MLB stadiums. I also realized I could have a career in the game that I loved.

As an amateur photographer, I have my camera with me wherever I can. While photography is a hobby for me, I had the opportunity to sell one of my photos at the South Carolina State Fair. The South Carolina Museum of Art also chose one of my photos to hang in an amateur art display for a year.
